About-Us

Greater Trenton Pipes and Drums is a 501(c)3 non-profit pipe band located in central New Jersey. Our members hail from Mercer, Burlington, Monmouth, Ocean, Buck’s (PA) and Chester (PA) Counties. Formed in 2003, GTP&D has quickly grown from a small group pipers and drummers to one of central New Jersey’s finest pipe bands.

Band-Marching

Our focus is on the education, promotion and preservation of the music of the Great Highland Bagpipes and Drums.

Of these, we consider education and growth of our members to be our top priority. To this end we are pleased to provide what we believe are the finest instructors available, Tim McCabe (pipes) and Gordon Bell (drums) of Kenmure Pipe Band.

Greater Trenton Pipes and Drums promotes the playing and preservation of bagpipe music by performing at over 20 events per year including parades, concerts, competitions and private functions.

Under the leadership of Band President Patty Downey, Pipe Major Tom McKeown and Drum Sergeant Mike Schillaci, Greater Trenton has successfully established itself as the premier pipe band of the central New Jersey area. On parade, the band is pleased to be lead by Drum Major Jack Kelly.  GTP&D proudly wears the “Scotland 2000” millennium tartan.
