Greater Trenton Pipes and Drums was formed in the early summer of 2003, by a small group of pipers and drummers. The band played its first performance for the 2003 Anchor House Ride Kick-Off event with nine pipers and drummers. Since then, the band has grown into well established organization and plays at over 25 parades, concerts and private functions each year.
In 2007 the band participated in its first competition, placing first at the New Jersey Irish Festival games in Lakewood, NJ. GTPB continued to compete in Grade V in the 2008 and 2009 seasons with performances at Bonnie Brae, Rockland County, the Irish Association of NWNJ competition in Sussex, NJ and Anne Arundel.
GTP&D is very pleased to be celebrating its 7th anniversary in 2010.
